Exams and Grades

I run the local Trinity College London exam centre in Macclesfield and enter students with them regularly with a 100% pass rate

I am currently helping some of my students through their Music GCSE qualifications

In addition I am experienced with the Associated Board of the Royal Schools of Music where I gained my own grades

Playing for fun

I find that piano lessons are a fabulous way to start a new hobby for the older student, to obtain a new skill and gain confidence with the piano

It is never too late to learn (my oldest student is in her 70’s!)

Whether you just want to learn carols for Christmas, nursery rhymes for the kiddies, sing along songs for the clubs, take exams - theory or practical, or whatever your ambition, I will be more than happy to chat to you and come to a plan with you to help you achieve your musical goals

About Me

I am a full member of the Incorporated Society of Musicians, and a Friend of The European Piano Teacher’s Association and have played the piano since I was about 6 years of age

I was classically trained as a child and teenager obtaining Grade 7 with the ABRSM

I am currently studying for Grade 8 after a career in the training / coaching sector

I now teach piano full-time while I pursue my own goals and continue my own professional development

I am teaching from absolute beginner to Grade 8

Reference from Mrs J. Nelson B.A. Hons (Student)

“I have known Mrs Beth Bee for over seven years. She is charming, and patient with incredible attention to detail whilst teaching. She is understanding and caring, which is so important from a pupil’s point of view. Where some teachers admonish their pupils Beth corrects by example, discussion and kind words. Beth has such a happy personality and we often play my favourite pieces and sing together. I would highly recommend this Tutor for any age.”

Reference from Karen Mitcheson, Grade 8 Student Parent

“It is my absolute pleasure to provide a reference for Beth, she is a truly outstanding teacher. Beth has tutored him from an absolute beginner to presently preparing him for grade 8.

The levels she has taught him are Piano - grades 1-8, Music theory grades 1-5, achieving mostly distinctions.

Beth has adjusted her teaching style over the years as my son has progressed and developed, being equally very competent in teaching him as a six year old and now a sixteen year old. She comes prepared with lesson plans and gives weekly lesson notes to aid independent practice.

Beth always goes the extra mile to make the learning experience enjoyable – often finding extra opportunities to perform, she guided my son through entering a local music competition – The Love Music Trust in Cheshire East, he came 3rd in 2018 and 1st in 2019, she was incredibly supportive in preparing him for this competition right up to the performance which she also attended to support him. Her gentle encouragement and motivation has given him a big confidence boost.

Beth communicates lessons well, always checking on a student’s understanding and finding a different way of explaining if the student does not fully understand. She always has a clear vision for both short and long term goals, both my son and I find it very easy to talk with her.

It is testament to Beth’s dedication, enthusiasm and expert teaching that my son has kept his interest and love of music for the past 10 years, taking him right up to grade 8. Beth’s passion for music shines through and has made my son’s musical journey over the past 10 years very positive and enjoyable. I would recommend her as a superb music teacher.”
